Lumewave products used wirelessly with LED, Induction, Plasma and HID fixtures are ideal for saving energy, reducing light pollution and enhancing public safety especially in and around large educational or business campus parking, sidewalk and other outdoor areas.
Installing a Lumewave TOP900 on every LED, HID or other new technology fixture allows for identifying and grouping of lighting to be wirelessly controlled for many benefits.
For example to achieve additional savings an owner can expect their outdoor lighting to come on at dark, and with the use of multi-stage dimming based on astronomical time, lighting can begin to drop to lower levels as activity and traffic drops off and full illumination is not necessary. In some cases fixtures can be turned completely off for maximum savings.
Usually an hour or so before dawn, lighting returns to higher levels before turning off again when dawn arrives.
Special event needs or changes can be easily made to accommodate other schedules or requirements to keep lighting at certain levels for longer periods. A single Gateway wirelessly sends commands for desired operation. Simple web based browser and software with easy to use tree-views and pull down menus make set up and changes almost effortless.
For added public safety, motion detector inputs can bring single fixtures or groups of fixtures back up to full illumination or higher when people or vehicles are detected in covered zones. Lighting will return to lower levels when movement in the zone has ceased and time delays have elapsed. Direction of travel can be determined so lighting can rise to suitable levels ahead of bicyclists, runners and others using pathways and walkways.
Fixtures with motion detectors can also be used with Lumewave’s Geo-Proximity and Direction of Travel features, signaling the nearest other devices to illuminate an area of light around individuals traversing the parking lot.
Increased savings can be achieved through a variable lighting solution utilizing 0-10Vdc linear dimming with Lumewave products. Granular to 5% increments with up to nine scheduled-time actions per day. Multi-level stepped switching is also a standard capability.
